A Bright Future for Oil and Gas in 2012

February 22, 2012

This week many supporters of Geophysics Rocks! attended the International Association of Geophysical Contractors (IAGC) annual meeting in Houston, TX.

This day-long event featured speakers on a variety of topics including L. Poe Leggett’s engaging discussion on environmental litigation. The keynote speaker was recently appointed Deputy Director for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), Walter Cruickshank, PhD.

The conclusion of the meeting featured an executive panel speaking on the past and current state of our industry affairs.

It’s important for every industry to organize meetings for growth and enrichment. The energy industry especially has always had a hard time proving to the general public and the media that they are one of the safest and most environmentally conscious in the world. It’s nice to see such a large, interested representation of our industry’s brightest, ready to learn, respond and grow.
